ABOUT

introduction

Anyone can practice and enjoy yoga. Yoga movements stretch and tone the whole body, strengthening the muscles and joints and increasing flexibility, stability and poise. Yoga also supports the nervous system, glands, and internal organs.

Linking movement to the breath, yoga gently expands awareness of the spirit-mind-body connection, facilitating inner relaxation and stillness. This in turn leads to more “presence” in the moment and to the clearing of limiting thought and belief patterns. Yoga has a profound effect on the way one feels about oneself, and this can radically change the way one moves through life’s journey.

Classes begin with a short discussion on the principles of Yoga and how they relate to life. After the exercise program, the session is concluded in an integrating relaxation that promotes a sense of well-being and wholeness.

testimonial

I have known Maggie, as she is affectionately known to her friends and students, for almost 22 years. As long as I have known her, her life has been dedicated to an inner search for a more profound way of living – a way of being that is gentle, spacious and receptive. It is this awareness that she tries to live and that she tries to impart to her students. In a spirit of sharing and community, she invites her students to see things differently and to discover together that there is more to this life than the mundane. There IS a way to ‘be’ that is open and graceful, and that brings a sense of peace and awe.

‘Who you are’ informs the way you teach.

Maggie’s classes are inclusive, non-judgemental and down-to-earth. She has a serenity and an uncomplicated wisdom that has earned her profound respect and love.
